Welcome to Homer Church Online!

When you are looking for a church, there are three questions that should come to mind: 1. Is God there? In other words, do you sense the presence of God? 2. Do they tell the truth? It's great to be engaged, but is what you're hearing really true? and 3. Do they love me? Can I see myself being embraced at this church?

At Homer, I truly believe you can answer yes to all three of those questions.

1. Is God present . . . we believe it would be a waste of our time if He wasn't. Read the powerful words of the Psalm writer as he speaks of God: "Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever (Psalm 73:25-26)." God is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Only God is worthy to be praised and only God has the power to change your life. Are you searching for God?

2. Do they tell the truth . . . sadly in many churches and places of worship, people settle for less than the truth. It's all about the excitement or what you get out of it, when truthfully it should be all about God. Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6)." He also said when talking to God the Father,  "Your word is truth (John 17:17)." At Homer, are goal is to be Christ-centered and Gospel-centered. Jesus and His story in the Bible takes center stage as we gather singing and learning about Him. We look to the Bible as our "final word." And we are trustworthy, holding to the ancient doctrines of Christianity learned from the Bible. We don't have a monopoly on truth. We know there are other good churches out there that hold up Christ and the Bible, and in the same way, it's our goal to be faithful to God in representing Him accurately. Are you seeking truth?

3. Do they love me . . . Although we are growing, we are a small church and, therefore, you can really get to know people at Homer. There is definitely a family atmosphere and we take family life very seriously, while still having fun. No matter how far you are from God, you were made in His image, and you are important to us. We see it as our goal to help you to know or grow closer to God and to worship Him, because in worshipping Him, you will find your deepest joy and satisfaction. We're flawed and we have room to grow, but you can be sure that we will love you and your family. Do you need to be loved?

So if your searching for God or seeking the truth or just looking for someone to love you, come out and visit us!

In Christ's love,

  Pastor Frank
